For the termination of an optic fiber cable, Fiber Optic Connectors offers a wide range of high-performance connectors that enables faster connections and disconnections.

It is possible to transmit light by using Fiber Optic Connections, which mechanically couple and align core fibers.

Reflection or misalignment of the fibers is minimal with better connectors.

TYPES OF CONNECTORS:

SC Connector:

SC is the abbreviation for Subscriber Connector. SC, also known as a square connection, was introduced to the market by Nippon Telegraph & Telephone and gradually gained popularity costs decreased.

Fiber SC Connector with a 2.5mm ferrule diameter that follows the IEC 61754–5 standard.

The outside square design of the connection, together with its snap coupling method, allows for higher connector density in instruments and patch panels.

LC Connector:

According to Lucent Technologies 1990s development, LC stands for “Lucent Connector”. Because of their reduced size, LC Connectors were created to replace SC Connectors.

LC is a push-pull connector with a latch that secures it in place.

However, the greatest attraction of the LC is Its compact size. LC Connectors are about half the size of other fiber optic connectors, allowing them to be utilized on devices that would otherwise be too small to accommodate a fiber optic connection.

LC connect looks like a little SC Connector. When it comes to the construction of the LC connector, SC connector borrows the split-sleeve design and the cylindrical ferrule (typically ceramic).

In rackmount systems, the LC Connectors push and latch design provides pullo proof stability.

ST Connector:

Straight Tip(ST) is the abbreviation for it. AT&T developed the ST Fiber Optic Connector shortly after the FC was introduced.

Although they may be mistaken for one another, ST employs a bayonet mount instead of a screw thread.

Due to their spring-loaded construction must be placed appropriately. SC is mostly utilized in multimode fiber optic cable, campuses, and buildings.

FC Connector:

FC is an abbreviation for Ferrule Connector. Nippon Telephone and Telegraph in japan created this round, threaded fiber optic connector.

Fiber optic connectors are used for single-mode and polarization-maintaining optic fibers.

The FC is a screw-type connector with a 2.5mm ferrule that was the first ceramic ferrule in a fiber optic connector.

FC, on the other hand, is becoming less prevalent and is being mostly overtaken by SC and LC due to its vibration-loosening properties.

APPLICATIONS:

Telecommunications Network

Local Area Networks

Data Processing Networks

High-density Connections and Device Terminations all require fiber optic Connectors.
